Who moved the Bitcoin price?

Every fall has a culprit by lunchtime and every rise has a hero. These pages take the name or the event that is being blamed, put a date range around it, and measure two things over exactly those days: the Bitcoin price, and what the world’s major central banks were adding to or draining from the financial system.

Sometimes the answer is that the story holds. More often the money had already turned weeks earlier, and the headline arrived to explain a move that was under way. Both outcomes get published.

The list is short on purpose. A page goes up only when three things are true: a real window with dates, a documented connection to the Bitcoin price rather than an assumed one, and a source anyone can open. A famous name with no data behind it does not get a page here — which is what makes the ones that exist worth reading.
